1. ​Ephesians 2:9 – Greek / Literal Translation 
   Strong negative adverb OUK, with the vowel beginning letter of the next word ERGON, emphasizes the strength of the fact that our works have absolutely nothing to do with salvation.  If it could be by works, there would be something about which we could boast.  The middle voice, and subjunctive mood for boast means that such boasting would be from a position of weakness.

Session 2 – "Grace Produces in the Believer's Life" – Ephesians 2:10 – Lesson 74

1. ​Ephesians 2:10 – Greek / Literal Translation 
   Post positive conjunctive particle gar is translated first in the verse, but occurs in the Greek text as the second word, following autou, “He”
   "For you are his creation (production) ktizo (to make or create, to reduce from a state of disorder)".  Grace found us spiritually dead, a state of disorder, and God did something about it.  In Ephesians 2:2, grace found us under the control of the Old Sin Nature, in a state of disorder, and God has provided the solution to this.  He is in control of the production.
   In verse 10, we see that He has pre-fabricated the solution to our states of disorder!  This is HIS production, HIS workmanship, created at a point of time in the past.
   Create means to produce from an existing foundation; God always builds upon His own foundation, not ours.  He has pre-fabricated the production, and if we want it, we can make use of pre-designed production.  We are HIS workmanship, HIS product, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God previously prepared in order that in them we might walk.
   Proetoimazo – means that God has pre-fabricated our ability to walk in the Works of the Spirit.  We have the pattern of life, the Grace Abounding Life.

   The subjunctive mood in the verb peripateo means that we may or may not choose to accept the plan of God – to have a pattern of walking in HIS good works.
