Ephesians 3:10 – Greek / Literal Translation
Reference Genesis 3:1-6
God said, If you disobey, dying, you shall die. One refers to physical death (gradual), and the other refers to spiritual death (immediate). When Adam and Eve disobeyed, they instantly died spiritually. Now we are born physically alive and spiritually dead, born with a sinful nature. When Christ came to this world, He came for the purpose of dying spiritually in our stead. This allows that we can now have a new birth, a spiritual birth when we accept the Person of Christ as our Savior. We know that God has provided amply for spiritual and physical death. There came a time when Christ came to die, and He accomplished that mission in victory over sin and death. When he was finished with His task, He said “it is finished”. He died once and for all, providing at that moment for the spiritual birth of anyone who accepts this provision, past, present and future. When He was resurrected, he provided for our own future resurrection, solving the problem of our physical death.
