God is Omniscient. God’s knowledge is total and not restricted by time. What we know now God always knew. What we do tomorrow God knew before what we call time existed. Think of His knowledge just in the realm of human activity—billions of people multiplied by millions of activities—He knows it all to the smallest detail! 1. God is all knowledge: · 1 Sam 2:3 - “There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside Thee: neither is there any rock like our God.” · Job 26:6 - “Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.” · Job 31:4 -6 “Doth not He see my ways, and count all my steps? If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hastened to deceit; let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.” · Job 34:21 - “For His eyes are upon the ways of man, and He seeth all his goings.” · Jer 16:17 - “Foe Mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My face, neither is their iniquity hid from Mine eyes.” · Ezek 11:5 - “And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me and said unto me, speak; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have you said O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.” · Matt 10:29, 30 - “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And not one of them shall fall to the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” · Heb 4:13 - “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” · Psalm 139:1-6 - “O Lord, thou hast searched me, and know me, Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off, Thou compassest my path and my lying down and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but lo, O Lord, though knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” 2. God has infinite wisdom and understanding: · 1 Sam 16:7 - “But the Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as a man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” · Ps 4:21 - “Shall no [He] search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart. · Psa 147:5 - “Great is our Lord, and of great power, His understanding is infinite.” (without limit) · Prov 3:19 - “The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath He established the heavens.” · Prov 5:21 - “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He pondereth all his goings.” (tracks) · Prov 17:3 - “The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for Gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts” · Isa 40:13, 14 - “Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or been His counsel, and who instructed Him and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to Him the way of understanding? · Jer 17:10 - “I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” · Jer 51:15 - “He that hath made the earth by His power, He hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His understanding.” · Rom 11:33 - “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out.” · 1 John 3:20 - “For if our hearth condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” · Nahum 1:7 - “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.” 3. God knows the end from the beginning: · Isa 46:9, 10 - “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is none else: I am God, and there is none like Me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from all times the things that are not done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” · Acts 2:23 - “Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and forknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.” · Acts 15:18 - “Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world.” |
